Sasson, based in northern New Jersey, explores the decline of The Record of Hackensack, N.J., the local daily newspaper where I worked as a reporter, copy editor and food writer for nearly 30 years; shopping at Costco Wholesale; eating in and eating out; harmful antibiotics in meat and fish; and Tesla and the slow transition to electric cars. It bears no relation to an official Israeli government report in 2005, also called the Sasson Report.
